Without years of working on a skill, mediocrity is the only result.

Without dedicating an abundance of time and energy to a craft, your skill level will never grow and your work will remain on a plateau of poor quality. It's always been my belief that good product or service, whatever field you're in, takes discipline and dedication to achieve. Anyone telling you differently doesn't want to put in that time and energy to being the best they can possibly be.
